Privacy policy
Draft privacy notice — operator and contact details are not yet published.
Information in your record
RentRecord stores account information, profile settings, property and tenancy details, review ratings and written reviews. For landlord-created tenancies, it also records the landlord’s Right to Rent declaration and its confirmation date, not copies of the tenant’s identity documents.
Who can see it
Your profile starts private. Property and profile settings are restricted to their owner; tenancy records are restricted to their parties. The sealed review view does not display scores or review text while waiting for both parties to submit.
Public profiles
If you opt into discovery, your public profile can be found by name or postcode district. Only unlocked reviews can appear publicly. You can hide public reviews, which also hides your public score. Public discovery does not expose tenancy contact emails.
Sharing your RentPassport
A RentPassport is a dated copy of your rental record. Only reviews from completed two-party exchanges are included. If you send it to someone, they may retain that copy even after your profile settings change.
Your privacy rights
UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict or object to its use, and request data portability. You can also raise concerns with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Notice awaiting completion
The operator’s identity, privacy contact, lawful bases, retention periods and service-provider information need to be confirmed before this notice is final.
